Terms of Use

FindMyContractor.com (“FindMyContractor,” “we,” “us”) is operated from Salt Lake City, Utah. By using this site — including by tapping “Submit” on a project request — you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

1. What we do — and what we don’t

FindMyContractor is a matching service. We forward your project request to local contractors, who pay us a fee to receive it and place bids. We are not a contractor, broker, or agent for either side, and we are not a party to any agreement between you and a contractor. We do not perform, supervise, or guarantee any work.

Information shown about contractors (including any licensing or insurance details) is provided by the contractors themselves or by public sources. Verify credentials, licensing, and insurance yourself before hiring. Any contract you sign and any payment you make is directly between you and the contractor.

2. Consent to be contacted

When you submit a request, you agree that FindMyContractor may contact you about it at the email address or phone number you provide. If you provide a phone number, you agree to calls and text messages, including via automated technology. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. We do not give matched contractors your contact information unless you later ask us to connect you directly. You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to any text or by emailing dylan@generalgc.com.

3. Your request content

You confirm the information in your request is accurate and yours to share, and you grant us permission to share it (including photos, videos, and notes) with contractors for the purpose of preparing bids and performing the work you requested.

4. Acceptable use

Don’t submit fake requests, misuse contractor contact information, interfere with the service, or use it for anything unlawful. We may decline or remove any request and suspend any account at our discretion.

5. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that bids will arrive, that any contractor will take your project, or that work performed will meet your expectations.

6. Limitation of liability

Using the service is free for homeowners. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to $100, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts or omissions of any contractor. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

7. Disputes — binding arbitration, no class actions

Before filing any claim, email dylan@generalgc.comand give us 30 days to resolve it informally. If we can’t, any dispute arising out of the service or these Terms will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, held in Salt Lake County, Utah or remotely by video. You and we each waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action. Either side may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court.

If 25 or more similar arbitration demands are filed against us by the same or coordinated counsel, the parties will batch them: bellwether cases proceed first and the rest are stayed (with filing fees deferred) until the bellwethers resolve.

You may opt out of this arbitration section by emailing dylan@generalgc.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, with your name and phone number.

8. General

Utah law governs these Terms. We may update them by posting a new version here with a new effective date; continued use after a change is acceptance. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Questions: dylan@generalgc.com.
