Privacy Policy

This policy describes what FindMyContractor.com (“we,” “us”), operated from Salt Lake City, Utah, collects when you use this site and how it is used and shared. Questions or requests: dylan@generalgc.com.
What we collect
- What you give us: your project description and details, the project address, photos, videos, voice notes and files you attach, and the contact method you choose — an email address, a phone number, or the email and name associated with your Google account. Email addresses and phone numbers are verified before submission.
- Collected automatically: your IP address, pages viewed, and how you arrived at the site (including ad-campaign parameters in the link you clicked), plus basic device information. We also record how you interact with the site — including clicks, scrolling, and text you type into forms other than password fields — using session replay from our analytics provider (PostHog), and we estimate your approximate location from your IP address.
How we use it
- To send your project to local contractors and return their bids to you — this is the service.
- To send sign-in codes and updates about your quotes through the contact method you choose, and to connect you with the contractor you pick.
- To operate, secure, and improve the site, and to measure our advertising.
- To create a short, editable project title and relevant quote previews from the RFQ details you type, when enough detail is available.
Who we share it with
- Contractors matched with your project: your project brief — description, details, approximate project area, and attachments. We do not give them your contact information unless you later give us permission to connect you directly.
- Service providers that run the site for us: hosting and storage (Amazon Web Services), sign-in and contact verification (Clerk), AI-assisted project-title and quote-preview generation (Anthropic), product analytics (PostHog), and advertising measurement (Google).
We do not sell your personal information.
Text messages
If you provide a phone number, we text you to verify it and may text you about your quotes. Reply STOP to any message to opt out of texts; message and data rates may apply. To also stop calls, email dylan@generalgc.com and we will honor your request.
Your choices
Email dylan@generalgc.comto ask what we have about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We keep your information while your request is active and as needed afterward for records and legal obligations. Our site does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
Children
The site is for homeowners arranging contracting work and is not directed to children under 13; we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. See also our Terms of Use.
